Dr. Summer Haddad is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. She is a registered nurse with a clinical background in neonatal intensive care and holds a BScN from McMaster University and a PhD from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Haddad’s research interests broadly focus on perinatal health, with particular attention to the sleep and well-being of parents of preterm infants. Her educational interests and scholarship focus on evidence-informed teaching and preparing nursing students for contemporary practice, including the ability to critically evaluate health information. Her teaching has been recognized with the Faculty’s Early Career Teaching Award.
Her current work explores approaches to integrating digital health literacy and responses to health misinformation into health professions education.
