Dr. Mohammed is a lecturer at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto and a postdoctoral fellow in The Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network. In his doctoral research, he utilized a poststructural perspective to examine patients’ search for curative oncological treatments despite having advanced cancer. In his postdoctoral research, he is conducting a grounded theory analysis of the care coordination roles that family caregivers take on to provide palliative home care for people dying of advanced cancer. Theoretically, Dr. Mohammed locates his scholarship in the philosophical work of Michel Foucault. His research interests include palliative care, family caregiver supports, homecare, neoliberalism and health, and critical ethics at the end of life. His clinical background is in hematological oncology.
