Together with children with cancer and their parents, I am investigating how the disease and its treatment impacts family psychosocial health and testing ways to support children and families through this process.
Lindsay Jibb RN PhD CPHON is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto’s Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, an Associate Member at Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), and a Scientist with Child Health Evaluative Sciences at the SickKids Research Institute. Dr. Jibb currently holds the Signy Hildur Eaton Chair in Pediatric Nursing Research at SickKids and the University of Toronto. Her research is focused on developing and evaluating innovative ways to optimize the psychosocial health of children with cancer and their families – including by considering parental distress and pain as prime psychosocial concerns. pursuing better ways to understand and optimize the psychosocial health of those affected by childhood cancer—particularly through family research partnerships.
Signy Hildur Eaton Chair in Paediatric Nursing Research
Established in 2000, the first endowed chair in paediatric nursing in Canada, the Signy Hildur Eaton Chair in Paediatric Nursing Research supports an outstanding nurse scientist in the development of a research program in paediatric nursing at The Hospital for Sick Children
Dr. Lindsay Jibb, Assistant Professor, was appointed to the Chair April 1, 2019. She leads research into pain management among children and adolescents with cancer, with a particular focus on the use of mHealth and eHealth technologies.

Rachel Hamilton, BHSc, BScN, RN, MN
Rachel Hamilton is a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing under the supervision of Dr. Lindsay Jibb. Rachel is a pediatric oncology Registered Nurse at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and a childhood cancer survivor. Her research focuses on enhancing short and long-term quality of life and improving outcomes in children with cancer and their families through optimization of cancer therapy. Rachel is passionate about patient-and family-centred engagement and co-design of research. She aims to establish a strong research foundation during her doctoral studies in order to pursue a successful career leading cancer-focused research.
Alicia Kilfoy, RN
Alicia is a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and a Registered Nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Her research interests include childhood cancer, digital health and patient and caregiver engagement. The focus of her doctoral research includes co-designing a mobile health intervention to support the psychosocial health of parents of children with cancer.
