Why did you/do you want to become a nurse? I have always felt a deep sense of compassion for those in need, and I wanted to be part of a profession that would directly improve the lives of others. Nursing was the perfect fit.
What was/is the most valuable lesson — inside or outside the classroom — you learned as a student the University of Toronto? You can achieve anything if you believe in yourself and work hard, like completing a master’s degree at University of Toronto while continuing to work!
What is your favourite thing about nursing? The connections I make with the people I care for.
Favourite Bloomberg Nursing professor: Can I say all of them?
Favourite quote: “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it” – Robin Williams
How do you plan to celebrate nursing week? Volunteering at my hospital giving out free coffee… and of course, enjoying free David’s Tea and Cinnabon!
What is the best thing about your job? Being able to have an impact on possibly the worst day of somebody’s life through small acts of comfort and kindness. Also, being able to work with an amazing team that have become my family.
