  • Course Description

    This intensive two day course will prepare participants to be successful in writing the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Examination (CNPE) Specialty Certificate: Primary Health Care (Family All Ages) exam to become registered as a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Health Care in the Province of Ontario. You will learn from a faculty of highly experienced Nurse Practitioners. This course addresses exam preparation approaches and skills and key areas covered in the CNPE exam including professional role and responsibility; health assessment and diagnosis; therapeutic management; and health promotion. Content will be geared to preparing you to be confident and successful in writing the Ontario registration exam. All participants receive a comprehensive study manual which provides summaries of the content areas included in the CNPE examination; study strategies and references to additional resources.

    Objectives

    At the end of this course participants will:

    1. Understand where to focus their exam preparation by helping to identify areas that need further study prior to writing the CNPE exam.
    2. Enhanced content knowledge and approaches to problem solving.
    3. Developed successful strategies for answering multiple choice questions and increased confidence in writing a high stakes examination.
    4. Understand the examination framework for the CNPE exam.

    Course participants will receive:

    • two full days of live presentations
    • opportunity to engage with expert faculty
    • a comprehensive printed study manual that includes priority information and key resources

    Please Note

    • Refund Policy – To withdraw from the course and receive a refund, your written request must be emailed to pd.nursing@utoronto.ca by July 19, 2019. No refunds will be given after this date. All refunds are subject to an administration fee of $100 + tax. As an alternative, a colleague may attend in your place. Please send your substitution request at least 7 days before the course.
    • Advanced registration is required. Registration deadline: August 9, 2019.
    • Applicable taxes (13% HST) will be added to the registration fees.
    • Course Cancellation Policy – The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to unavailability of instructors, facilities or insufficient enrolment. Decisions on course cancellations are made at least 15 calendar days prior to the course starting date, so early registration is recommended. If you enroll in a course that is subsequently cancelled, you may transfer to another section of that course if an alternative is available; or you may receive a full refund. We are not responsible for travel fees or any expenses incurred by you.

    Step 2: Obtain a certified cheque or money order payable to “University of Toronto” for the registration fee plus 13% HST. No personal cheques. No debit cards.
