In addition to the program tuition and University of Toronto incidental fees, students are expected to pay Faculty of Nursing specific incidental fees. These may vary by year of program.  For registered students, exact fees are found on the invoice, which can be printed from ACORN. Tuition fees are made up of three components: program fee, university incidental fee, nursing specific ancillary fees. Incidental-campus fee includes items such as membership in the Athletic Centre, Hart House and others. Incidental fee-societies includes fees such as health plan and others. All fees are mandatory, whether one makes use of the university resources or not. Certain fees are charged only once in the program; therefore, they would not be charged in subsequent years of study. However, certain fees, such as clinical placement fee, will have different fee amount depending on the year of study. Refer to the Student Accounts’ website for further information on fee-related matters.

Additional Costs

In addition to the tuition fee, text books (approximately $600 for BScN Year 1) and living expenses, there are other costs associated with pursuing degree/diploma programs, such as the cost of scrubs and stethoscope. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the organization where they are placed can provide the appropriate size mask. In the event that an organization does not use the same brand for masks, the student will need an additional mask fitting. The student is obligated to pay all costs incurred to secure required mask fittings. Neither the University nor the Faculty of Nursing pays for or reimburses students for costs associated with mask fittings. The student is obligated to pay all costs incurred to secure required police record checks. Neither the University nor the Faculty of Nursing pays for or reimburses students for costs associated with obtaining police record checks.

Miscellaneous Fees

Fees are charged for services such as completion of forms (excluding government student loan forms), confirmation letters and replacement of badges, etc. Payment can be made through Service Requests. Please note that confirmation letters for graduate students are normally provided by the School of Graduate Studies. Transcripts ($12) may be ordered through ACORN or the Transcript Centre.
