Ontario Research Excellence Awards
The Ontario provincial government provided awards recognizing research excellence across a variety of domains – healthcare and all other sciences. Between 1999 and 2005, the Premier’s Research Excellence Awards (PREA), recognized researchers’ contributions by providing recipients with five years of funding support for student training at all levels (e.g., undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and postdoctoral). In 2005, this program was renamed the Early Researcher Award.
