Order of Ontario
The Order of Ontario is the highest honour an Ontarian can receive. It was instituted in 1986 to recognize current or former long-term residents of Ontario who have shown high levels of individual excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour that benefits the people of Ontario.
Gail Donner, RN, PhD, was named to the Order of Ontario in 2001 in recognition of her contributions to healthcare and nursing education. Dr. Donner, Professor Emerita and former Dean of the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (1999-2001), now consults on career development, health policy and nursing administration. Her research focused on nursing education and leadership.
