Sara obtained her BScN from McMaster University and her MN from University of Toronto. She completed the Certificate in Nursing Education for the Practice Setting program in 2020 and received CNA Certification in Pediatrics in 2021. Sara’s clinical expertise is in pediatric surgical care, particularly Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, and General Surgery. She has experience assessing and evaluating clinical experience as a preceptor and educator. She also has experience in curriculum design and delivery at both a local level and broad organizational level. The most rewarding part of Sara’s educator role is supporting new staff throughout the orientation process and providing clinical support on the inpatient units. In 2019 Sara was the recipient of the SickKids’ Grace Evelyn Simpson Reeves award for Excellence in the Nursing Education Category.
