Dr. Jana Lok is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. She brings more than two decades of nursing, military, and teaching experience to her role, with a background in emergency and acute care nursing and advanced nursing practice.
Dr. Lok teaches across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, with a focus on pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutics, advanced health assessment, and clinical reasoning. Drawing on her clinical experience, she uses active learning to help students connect theory to nursing practice.
Her scholarship focuses on simulation, interprofessional education, clinical competence, and innovation in nursing education. As part of her global health work, Dr. Lok is currently the Nursing Co-Lead for the Critical Care/Emergency Nursing Program with the Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration.
