Leigh Andrews is the Advanced Practice Nurse for the High Risk Birthing Unit and the High Risk Obstetrics at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She graduated from Athabasca University with her Master of Nursing and has been an obstetrical nurse for 25 years. She has been instrumental in the development of innovative education sessions and quality initiatives including a model of care of combining critical care and obstetrical nursing for acutely ill pregnant women. She is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto and holds a Level 1 Critical Care Nursing Certificate with honours from George Brown College. She is a Simulationist (SIM-one), NRP and FHS instructor. Special areas of interest include case management of medically complex pregnant patients, informatics and simulation.
