Colleen McNamee is a Registered Nurse with over 17 years of experience in direct care, education, professional practice, research, and leadership. She has a BScN from Dalhousie University and an MN from the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. Her clinical expertise is primarily with trauma, neurosurgical, and general surgical acute care patient populations and she has held multiple roles throughout her career, including staff nurse, manager, practice lead, educator, clinical instructor, preceptor, and mentor. Colleen has taught in both academic and clinical practice settings, including facilitating learning for undergraduate and graduate nursing students, staff nurses, interprofessional team members, educators, managers, directors, and other health care leaders. Her current role is as a Professional Practice Leader with Nova Scotia Health, where she provides guidance and leadership on professional practice and education at the individual, team, program, and system level.
