Award-winning journalist Suzanne Gordon launched her latest book, Beyond the Checklist: What Else Health Care Can Learn from Aviation Teamwork and Safety to an enthusiastic crowd at U of T Faculty of Nursing on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
Beyond the Checklist, coauthored by Patrick Mendenhall and Bonnie Blair O’Connor studies the startling similarities between team work in the aviation and the health care industry, and why health care needs to follow the lead of aviation and move past the old models of interaction in order to increase patient safety.
