The Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing is pleased to announce new administrative appointments in the Faculty, effective July 1, 2018.
Erica Cambly has been appointed Interim Director, Undergraduate Program commencing July 1, 2018. At Bloomberg Nursing, Cambly is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream. She draws from her clinical expertise in adult medicine, complex continuing care, nephrology and palliative care when working with students in the classroom and laboratory settings. Cambly is the co-lead for the undergraduate simulation team. She actively develops, facilitates and evaluates simulations in Bloomberg Nursing’s Simulation Laboratory. Most recently, a learning activity that included a simulation pertaining to end-of-life care was developed and evaluated.
Dr. Edith Hillan has been appointed Acting Director, PhD Program from July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 while Robyn Stremler serves as Acting Associate Dean, Academic. Dr. Hillan’s current interdisciplinary research examines the health of women and newborns from a global perspective. From 2002 to 2004, Dr. Hillan was the Associate Dean, Academic Programs at U of T Nursing. She was Vice-Provost at the University of Toronto from 2004-14 where her main area of responsibility was around academic personnel issues.
Dr. Sandra Merklinger has been appointed Acting Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner Field of Study from January 1, 2019 – June 30, 2019 while Monica Parry is on sabbatical. Dr. Merklinger’s research interests have been focused on creating new surgical possibilities for babies born with a single ventricle. At Bloomberg Nursing, she teaches within the graduate program.
Dr. Robyn Stremler has been appointed Acting Associate Dean, Academic for the period Professor Ann Tourangeau is on administrative leave, July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. Dr. Stremler’s research focuses on ways to improve sleep and related health outcomes for children and their parents. Dr. Stremler’s interests include sleep in infancy through adolescence in both healthy populations and those facing acute and chronic illness, and mobile health approaches to sleep assessment and interventions. She also holds an appointment as an Adjunct Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children. At Bloomberg Nursing, Dr. Stremler has served as Director, PhD Program since 2015.
