Applicants to the Doctoral of Nursing (DN), PhD and MN programs at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing should complete the following application in order to be considered for the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing Admission Awards. Applicants may also want to visit the SGS Awards page to learn more about the array of awards available to graduate students at the University of Toronto. By completing this application, you are requesting the faculty to consider you for any admissions award that you may be eligible. No other additional documents are required since the academic transcripts and letters of reference are required for application to the program. The faculty has a number of admissions awards, which can be found on our website. Applicants need not indicate which award they would like to be considered, since the faculty will determine this based on the admission application and the area of nursing interest of the applicants. Please note that bmany of these awards have residency and financial need requirements. We encourage all eligible applicants to complete the admissions award application form. Please note that only successful applicants for awards will receive a notification decision.
Applications for MN Admission Awards (September 2022 intake) are being accepted from November 15, 2022 until January 15, 2023.
Applications for Doctoral Admission Awards (September 2022 intake) are being accepted from November 15, 2022 until April 30, 2023.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are Faculty of Nursing admissions awards allocated to students?
The Faculty of Nursing Admissions Committee assesses incoming student applications and assigns all awards. Some awards are allocated based on academic achievement or merit, while others are allocated based on financial need. For example, half of our ~22 Schulich awards ($9,000 each) are given to students in full-time Master of Nursing (including Nurse Practitioner program) based on merit, and half are allocated based on student financial need. Part-time Post Masters Nurse Practitioner Diploma students are not included in the program.

Entry or in-course student applicants must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
- Master’s students with at least three years full-time employment as an RN working at the bedside
- Master’s students in the Nurse Practitioner Program with at least three years full-time employment as an RN working at the bedside
- PhD students with at least five years full-time employment as an RN working at the bedside
Candidates may be considered who do not meet the prerequisites above but are deemed by the faculty to have the equivalent in education and directly related work experience. Award Preferences: In addition to the above prerequisites, preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skills and critical thinking
- Demonstrated interest in preventative health care including, but not limited to, diet, nutrition, exercise and healthy living
- Demonstrated compassion for persons-in-need with particular reference to the elderly, paediatrics, and veterans
