Dr. Heather Thomson is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream and the Director of the Master of Nursing Program. She has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare system with positions ranging from front ine nurse to leadership roles in the public and private sectors. Her interests include leadership, quality improvement, patient safety, simulation, innovation, and technology.

Dr. Thomson’s scholarship is focused on promoting quality through innovative approaches to education including the use of virtual reality in academic and clinical settings. She is also involved in projects pertaining to simulation and the development and evaluation of interprofessional education.
