A bit of U of T Nursing history as we celebrate National Nursing Week! This photo shows a class of nursing students who had just completed their direct training in Public Health Nursing (a 3-year program) at the Toronto School of Nursing, November 1939. The Rockefeller Foundation played a vital role in the field of nursing by funding the development of formal nursing training programs worldwide in the early decades of the twentieth century.
