Zoraida DeCastro Beekhoo teaches a variety of clinical courses at the undergraduate level including Introduction to Acute Care Nursing: Adult, Coping with Complexity in Persistent Illness, and Integrative Nursing Practicum with a key component of her curriculum being a focus on readiness to practice. In her role as the Year 2 Coordinator for the BScN program, Beekhoo makes every effort to help students gain a fulsome understanding of the many aspects of nursing while preparing them to be job-ready once they enter the field.

As the Interprofessional Education Lead for the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, Beekhoo also is responsible for ensuring students are well versed in the key elements of collaboration and communication that contribute to providing advanced care across the health system.

Beekhoo is the recipient of several teaching awards, including most recently the 2021 Award for Teaching that Intellectually Challenges Students in recognition of her ability to provide students with stimulating and advanced knowledge in the nursing field.
