The U of T Nursing Class of 1976 celebrated their milestone anniversary year with a special Bloomberg Nursing luncheon at the U of T Faculty Club organized by class ambassadors Gail Kennedy and Mary Milton.
“Being able to reconnect after 50 years is so special, because some of us truly haven’t seen each other since graduation,” said Milton.
Class ambassadors play an important role in connecting alumni and helping them stay engaged with one another at the Faculty. For the Class of 76, their 50th anniversary luncheon provided an opportunity to reminisce about their shared experiences as nursing students and reflect on where life has taken them.
Kennedy described the gathering as an opportunity to walk down memory lane with some classmates who travelled out of province to attend the event.
“So many of our classmates have gone on different professional journeys, but we continue to share a strong sense of unity because of our time together as nursing classmates,” said Kennedy.
Many of the members of the class shared how proud they were to be U of T Nursing alumni, and how the program and the professors who taught them provided an important foundation for them as they started their career.
“We believe that this program allowed us to have many opportunities in various fields of nursing and fulfill our career choices,” said Kennedy.
