  • Course Description

This course will assist Nurse Practitioners to prepare and build confidence for participation in an OSCE (Objective Standardized Comprehensive Evaluation). Participants will learn how to effectively demonstrate and communicate their ability to conduct a focused history and physical examination, make a diagnosis, and communicate a therapeutic plan of care. Participants will learn strategies to enhance their ability to function effectively under conditions that may cause anxiety and stress. Significant time will be devoted to observing and experiencing simulated OSCEs.

The course will be offered in a hybrid format. Preparatory material is provided online prior to a one day on‑site experience focused on application of learning and OSCE simulations. Online resources will include modules on what to expect in an OSCE, how to conduct focused health histories and physical examinations, and therapeutic planning.
