Professor Kelly Metcalfe appointed Acting Associate Dean, Research & External Affairs
The Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing is pleased to announce that Professor Kelly Metcalfe has been appointed Acting Associate Dean, Research and External Relations for a one year term while Professor Linda McGillis Hall is on administrative leave.
Professor Metcalfe is world-renowned for conducting research on the prevention and treatment of hereditary breast cancer. She has conducted some of the first research on the implications of genetic testing for BRCA. She has published extensively on the psychosocial implications of cancer preventive options and has developed a decision aid for breast cancer prevention, which she is comparing to standard genetic counseling in an international study. Professor Metcalfe also developed the largest known database of North American women with hereditary breast cancer, including pathology and treatment information.
