Nursing Administration Field
Course Requirements :
The following course requirements must be completed to fulfill the MN degree requirements:
Foundation Courses:
NUR1017H: History of Ideas in Nursing Practice
NUR1022H: Research Design, Appraisal and Utilization
NUR 1028H: Introduction to Qualitative Research: Methodologies, Appraisal and Knowledge Translation
NUR1034H: Program Planning and Evaluation in Nursing (NUR 1022 should be taken prior to this course)
ONE OF THE FOLLOWING RELATIONAL COURSES - NUR 1021H: Nursing Ethics OR NUR 1032H: Group Process and Professional Practice OR NUR1043H: Theories of Interpersonal Process OR NUR1016H: Health Systems, Policy and the Profession OR NUR 1012: Culture & Relations
Students must complete three field of study courses. Two of the field of study courses MUST be chosen from the list of approved courses below (appropriate to each field). There are three options for the third field of study course. The third field of study course may be selected from:
· The list of core field of study courses for either field of study (clinical or administration)
· A graduate course from another faculty that fits with the student’s program of study – the student must seek approval (and signature for the form) from the lead teacher for the field of study
NUR1060H : Leadership and Management of Nursing and Health Services
NUR1061H : Patient Information Systems/Workload Measurement
NUR1062H: Measuring Nursing Care Effectiveness
NUR1064H: Behaviour in Health Care Organizations
NUR1066H: Theoretical Basis for Methodology for Quality Improvement in Nursing Services

Pre-Requisites
NUR1017, NUR1022, and NUR1028 must be completed within first 2 terms of registration.
There are some pre-requisites to keep in mind. NUR 1022 must be completed before registering in NUR 1034.
Program Plan
Please check the Faculty of Nursing website for the list of courses offered according to term to assist you with planning your schedule of courses. Usually, you should be taking one or two courses per term.
NUR1072 will be taken alone in final term of the MN Clinical & Admin Fields of Study Program and only after completion of all other coursework and program requirements.
