Diploma in Anesthesia Care
Overview
We offer two types of Anesthesia Care programs:
1) Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner Field) Concurrent Diploma in Anesthesia Care
- Candidates must first be admitted to the Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) program under the general regulations of the School of Graduate Studies
- Candidates enroll in the MN-NP program
- Candidates apply in the spring (April/May/June) of year 1 to the MN-NP Concurrent Diploma in Anesthesia Care
- MN-NP Concurrent Diploma must be completed in conjunction with the MN-NP curriculum that includes 4 MN foundation courses and 4 NP field courses
- Candidates already hold a Master of Nursing degree
- Candidates are already Nurse Practitioners currently registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Nurse Practitioner-Adult or Nurse Practitioner-Pediatrics
All students in the Anesthesia Care program will complete a total of 4 NP-Anesthesia courses. The courses are available only at the downtown University of Toronto campus at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. Students must attend courses in person as no on-line option is available for this program.
