Course Description
This intensive two day course will prepare participants to be successful in writing the ANCC exam in order to qualify to be a Nurse Practitioner –Adult in the Province of Ontario. You will learn from a faculty of highly experienced Adult Nurse Practitioners who have successfully written the American certification exam. This highly successful course addresses exam preparation approaches and skills and key areas covered in the ANCC exam including clinical management, health assessment, foundations of advanced clinical practice, professional roles, and health care policy and delivery. Content will be geared to preparing you to be confident and successful in writing the Ontario registration exam.
All participants receive a comprehensive study manual which provides summaries of the content areas included in the ANCC examination; study strategies and references to additional resources.
Objectives
At the end of this course participants will:
- Understand where to focus their exam preparation by helping to identify areas that need further study prior to writing the ANCC exam.
- Enhanced content knowledge and approaches to problem solving.
- Developed successful strategies for answering multiple choice questions and increased confidence in writing a high stakes examination.
- Understand the examination framework for the ANCC exam.
Course participants will receive:
- two full days of live presentations
- opportunity to engage with expert faculty
- a comprehensive printed study manual that includes priority information and key resources
- Breakfast coffee and muffin; and lunch both days

- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC): The ANCC is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association who administers the exam used in Canada.
