New Faculty Welcomed at Bloomberg Nursing

Our new faculty members who started in January 2013 are:

Dr. Kim Widger:  one of our own PhD graduates, who is completing a post-doc with Dr. Bonnie Stevens from The Hospital for Sick Children, has taken up a tenure-stream position as assistant professor. Kim’s research program is related to improving quality of end-of-life care for paediatric patients and their families. She will be teaching in the graduate and undergraduate programs.

Dr. Tracey Colella:  a nurse practitioner working in cardiac rehabilitation as a scientist at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) will hold teaching responsibilities in both the MN-NP field and the undergraduate program.

Jana Gegus Lok:  returns to our Faculty as lecturer, teaching in the undergraduate program, particularly within the pathophysiology course and simulation lab.   Jana is also completing her PhD.

Dr. Jane MacIver:  a cariad nurse practitioner with University Health Network, will be teaching in the undergraduate program.

Dr. Sandra Merklinger:  a nurse practitioner from The Hospital for Sick Children will be joining our faculty as an assistant professor. Sandra has worked with us for a number of years as an adjunct lecturer teaching in the MN-NP field. She will continue to do so but will also teach in the undergraduate program, particularly related to the pathophysiology course.

Dr. Donna Romano:  is well known to many as she has taught here in the graduate and undergraduate program for the last few years, as well as maintained her leadership role at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Donna is now formally seconded to the Faculty and will be teaching in the undergraduate programs and leading an initiative in mental health.
