Congratulations to Bloomberg Nursing master’s student Shannon Farley, recipient of the Canadian Nurses Foundation Ovarian Cancer Canada Award. Shannon is in her first year of the MN Nurse Practitioner – Adult program. She’s also a primary nurse in oncology at the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre. As a Registered Nurse, she spent her entire career working in oncology, developing a special interest in gynaecology oncology. Shannon has collaborated in several initiatives, most recently facilitating a program for female oncology patients addressing sexual health concerns.
The award is offered to eligible nurses at the Master level who will focus their research on issues related to ovarian cancer. The Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) supports world-class Canadian health care by raising funds to advance nursing knowledge and research, and by recognizing professional excellence in Canada’s nurses. Through partnerships with organizations and individuals, CNF raises funds to provide grants, awards and scholarships to Canadian nurses and nursing students.
