24 August 2011

Congratulations to Bloomberg Nursing student Shannon Keast, recipient of the Canadian Nurses Foundation’s Johnson & Johnson award. Shannon is in her final year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The main criteria for the award, initially established in 1995, was the candidate must plan to practice nursing in an operating room or a critical care area; Shannon hopes to pursue a career in a cardiac intensive care unit, operating room or emergency room, or in oncology. This summer, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Michael McGillion in the Centre for the Study of Pain.

The Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) supports world-class Canadian health care by raising funds to advance nursing knowledge and research, and by recognizing professional excellence in Canada’s nurses. Through partnerships with organizations and individuals, CNF raises funds to provide grants, awards and scholarships to Canadian nurses and nursing students.
