Catherine Hardie RN, EdD

Dr. Kate Hardie has studied the added strain that immigrant women experience when mothering a child in the hospital. She has presented on how language discordance affects their experience, and on the need for the use of interpreters in health care practice and research.

At U of T Nursing, Dr. Hardie has served as Chair of the Undergraduate Program and Chair of Undergraduate Admissions. She is the Course Co-ordinator for the Integrative Nursing Practicum at the Hospital for Sick Children. At the graduate level, she teaches Introduction to Qualitative Research as well as Women’s Health Across the Lifespan.

In 2011, Dr. Hardie received Sigma Theta Tau International’s Award for Excellence in Nursing Leadership.
