COURSE DESCRIPTION
This two-day Canadian RN exam (CRNE) preparation course aims to prepare students to be successful in writing the CRNE. Participants will have intensive practice in exam writing with feedback about approaches to multiple choice questions across the major content areas and be able to identify areas needing further study prior to the CRNE. Course content will include a review of the CRNE structure, approaches to learning medications, laboratory results and diagnostic tests in the context of the CRNE; practice exams followed by small group work with faculty; and a 4 hour timed “mock” CRNE exam on the second day. Participants will be given their grades on the exams and will understand areas which need further study.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course students will have:
- increased confidence in writing multiple choice exams related to the CRNE.
- developed successful strategies for writing multiple choice questions for the CRNE.
- developed an awareness of content areas needing further study prior to writing the CRNE exam.
